I’m Jon Lock, the Digital Communications Manager for the CJS Common Platform Programme (CJS CPP). In this, my first ever blog post I am really excited to tell you about how the CJS CPP is incorporating short videos to improve our communication messages to staff and stakeholders across the Criminal Justice System. The videos also aim to keep people updated with the progress we are making.
The CJS CPP will transform the Criminal Justice System in a way that has never been seen before. We are replacing the existing HMCTS and CPS case management systems with a single system providing access to all the material necessary to deal with cases efficiently and effectively. Everything will be available from a single central source and can be accessed by everyone who needs to, from almost anywhere, at any time.
The Programme’s Business Change Team have created this short video (below) that explains what we will deliver, how we will deliver it, and where we are with the programme at the moment.

You can probably guess this is a programme of scale and complexity, where our approach to engaging with a variety of users must reflect the modern world we live in.
Having worked in various operational roles for HMCTS I was all too aware that our inboxes can be overloaded with endless emails. There was a high chance important messages about organisation change were being missed. As a result, we realised that we needed to think of alternative and more creative ways to reach incredibly busy staff and stakeholders.
Creating video communications can be costly and time consuming, but we’ve built up the skills, knowledge and capability in-house to produce effective videos at nil cost. Video can be an efficient channel to get important messages across to your audience with impact. I’m really proud that we are producing this type of communication materials and being able to turn ideas into meaningful content and publishing them quickly.

Rhaglen Platfform Cyffred ddefnyddio fideo i cyfathrebu

Bydd Rhaglen Platfform Cyffredin y System Cyfiawnder Troseddol yn trawsnewid y System Cyfiawnder Troseddol mewn ffordd nas gwelwyd o’r blaen. Rydym yn disodli systemau rheoli achosion presennol GLlTEM a Gwasanaeth Erlyn y Goron gydag un system a fydd yn rhoi mynediad at yr holl ddeunyddiau sy’n angenrheidiol i ddelio ag achosion yn effeithiol ac yn effeithlon. Bydd popeth ar gael o un ffynhonnell ganolog a bydd ar gael i bawb sydd ei angen, o bron i unrhyw le ac ar unrhyw adeg.

Mae’n debyg y gallwch ddyfalu bod y rhaglen hon o raddfa fawr ac yn gymhleth iawn, lle mae’n rhaid i’n dull o ymgysylltu ag amrywiaeth o ddefnyddwyr adlewyrchu’r byd modern rydym yn byw ynddo.
Ar ôl gweithio mewn amryw o rolau gweithredol yn GLlTEM, rwyf yn gwbl ymwybodol y gall ein mewnflychau gael eu gorlwytho gyda negeseuon e-bost diddiwedd. Roedd yn debyg iawn bod negeseuon pwysig am newid yn y sefydliad yn cael eu methu. O ganlyniad, sylweddolodd pawb fod angen i ni feddwl am ffyrdd gwahanol a mwy creadigol i’r negeseuon gyrraedd y staff a’r rhanddeiliaid sy’n ofnadwy o brysur.
Gall creu cyfathrebiadau fideo fod yn gostus a chymryd llawer o amser, ond rydym wedi datblygu’r sgiliau, yr wybodaeth a’r gallu yn fewnol i gynhyrchu fideos effeithiol yn rhad ac am ddim. Gall fideos fod yn sianel effeithiol i drosglwyddo negeseuon pwysig i'ch cynulleidfa. Rwyf yn falch iawn ein bod yn cynhyrchu'r math hwn o ddeunyddiau cyfathrebu, ac y gallwn ddatblygu syniadau i fod yn gynnwys arwyddocaol a’u cyhoeddi’n fuan.
Ymunais â Rhaglen Platfform Cyffredin y System Cyfiawnder Troseddol yn 2015, ac roedd yn un o'r penderfyniadau gorau a wnes i erioed. Mae mor gyffrous cael bod yn rhan o’r broses uno’r System Cyfiawnder Troseddol i weithio’n ddigidol, ac yn gyfle na fydd yn codi eto yn ystod fy oes innau mae’n debyg.
